Cookie policy

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website can store on your device. Similar techniques are localStorage and sessionStorage. They may be needed to make a site work, or are used for functionality, statistics or marketing.

Our approach

By default, JR Security only places strictly necessary storage. Optional categories (functional, analytics, marketing) are activated only after you give consent via our cookie banner. If you refuse, nothing optional is loaded — and the site remains fully usable (no "cookie wall").

Categories

Strictly necessary (always active)

• Remembering your cookie choice itself, stored in localStorage on your own device — this is not a tracking cookie and is not shared with third parties.
• Form security: protection against abuse and rate-limiting, and the anti-spam check hCaptcha (Intuition Machines, US) which loads on form pages for every visitor to keep out spam and bots. See the Privacy policy for the transfer to the US and your rights.
• Legal basis: legitimate interest (art. 6(1)(f) GDPR); for storing your choice, the legal exception for necessary storage applies.

Functional

• We currently store nothing here. Your language follows from the URL (/ for Dutch, /en/ for English) and therefore does not need to be saved. The category is reserved for preferences we may want to remember later. No tracking.

Analytics

• We do not use this category at the moment: no statistics software runs on this site. The category is reserved for possible future cookieless, EU-hosted statistics. Should we ever deploy those, they will load only after your consent and we will update this policy beforehand. No Google Analytics, no profiling.

Marketing

• We currently place no marketing cookies. This category is reserved for potential future campaign pixels; we place no advertising or tracking pixels (no Facebook Pixel, no Google Ads) without your consent. (The hCaptcha anti-spam check falls under strictly necessary, not marketing.)

Changing or withdrawing your consent

You can adjust or withdraw your choice at any time via the Cookie preferences button at the bottom of every page. When you withdraw, we delete the relevant optional storage immediately. You can also manage or delete cookies via your browser settings.
